The Biggest War!

Every day, the world wakes up to headlines of war. One day it is the United States and Iran. Another day it is Russia and Ukraine or Israel and Hamas. While these conflicts dominate the news, AIR reminds us that the greatest war is not fought between nations. It is fought within every human being, every single day.

The moment we wake up, an invisible tug of war begins between the mind and the ego on one side and consciousness on the other. AIR calls these two forces NEP (Negative Energy Poison) and PEP (Positive Energy Power). NEP is fueled by fear, anger, desires, attachments, comparisons, and the illusion of “I, me and mine.” PEP is strengthened by awareness, acceptance, gratitude, compassion, and inner peace. The outcome of this war depends on one simple principle: the side we feed becomes stronger.

This battle is not occasional—it is continuous. Every sight, sound, taste, smell, and touch presents a choice. When the senses are driven by the restless mind, they chase pleasure, avoid discomfort, and keep us trapped in ignorance. But when consciousness holds the reins, the same senses become instruments of awareness. The war continues until consciousness governs the senses rather than the mind.

The most profound truth is that the Soul is never involved in this conflict. The Soul neither fights nor suffers. It is eternally peaceful. The war exists only because of ignorance. We mistakenly identify ourselves with the body, mind, and ego, forgetting our true identity as the Soul. Therefore, the purpose of human birth is not merely to learn, earn wealth, achieve success, or gain recognition. It is to win this inner war and realize the answer to life’s most important question: Who am I?

AIR gives us a powerful formula for victory: EE—Eliminate the Mind and Enlighten the Ego. Eliminating the mind means eliminating the bundle of toxic thoughts arising from ignorance, negativity, and desires. Enlightening the ego means dissolving the false identity of “I am the body” and awakening to the truth, “I am the Soul.” When the mind is eliminated and the ego is enlightened, consciousness naturally shines.

How do we practice EE? The answer is meditation. Every moment spent in meditation weakens NEP and nourishes PEP. It is like feeding the wolf of consciousness while starving the wolf of ignorance. This is why the first battle of the day is the most important one. If we begin our morning with meditation, consciousness takes charge and guides us through the day with clarity and peace. If we allow the mind to take control from the moment we wake up, we spend the rest of the day reacting instead of responding, often losing our peace before the day has truly begun. Do join the daily meditation conducted by AiR on his live YouTube channel every day without a holiday so that you WIN this holy war within.

The world’s wars may continue, but there is one victory that ends all suffering. It is the victory achieved by realizing, “I am the Soul, not this body-mind-ego complex.” (Or Neti Neti, Tat Tvam Asi, as quoted in the Mahavakyas.)

The greatest war is not fought on a battlefield. It is fought within. Win this war, and you discover that there is no misery or sorrow in life—it is peaceful, eternally happy, and always in love.
