What is our Purpose of Life on Earth?

Do you think that the only purpose of our life on Earth is to be happy? Isn’t it a very shallow purpose? What is the challenge of just being happy? Anyone can have fun! But is that enough? Of course not! Most people think that to live means to just run, run and run to have some fun and that’s it. It is done! This is not “living”…. This is just “existing”! What is the true purpose, the true meaning of life? Why are we alive? Why did we come to planet Earth? Where did we come from? Where would we go? Who made this planet? What makes the Earth spin on its own axis or revolve around the sun? Who created the cosmos? Who...

The Mystery of the Law of Karma, You Probably Didn’t Know

Everybody talks of Karma. It’s a simple law – what you give, you get. It’s the law of the boomerang. What goes around, comes around. It’s a law of action and reaction. It is very simple to understand – if you plant mangoes, you will not reap pineapples. As you sow, so shall you reap. Nothing is new about this law. It seems to be a universal law that exists on planet earth. But there are some things about the law of Karma that you probably didn’t know. What the world knows is very simple – if we do good, good will come back to us and if we do bad deeds, we will suffer. Nothing can escape the law of Karma. Not only does it work in...

What is the Ultimate Goal of Life?

If we look around, different people have different goals. Some people just want to be rich, others crave for power, and still others seek contentment and fulfillment. If we look deeper, people pursue different things to ultimately get to Destination Happiness. 80% of the world is trying to climb the first peak of Achievement, while the rest are trying to go further towards the second peak of Fulfillment. The achiever may want to excel in sports, politics or business, amongst the various other fields that are mushrooming in the world today. The ones who are content and fulfilled are trying to escape the rat race. For them, happiness doesn’t come from achieving more, but rather from desiring less. The former, who climb the first peak of happiness,...

Who is God? Where is God? What is God?

We all believe in a God. God is our Lord, our Saviour and our Father in heaven. All religions accept the existence of God. We go to temples, mosques and churches. As children, we are made to believe in a God that has a name and a form. We follow scriptures as the word of God, but have we ever tried to go in quest of the truth, to realize who God is? We pray to a Power that has a name and a form but where is this God? Who is this God? What is this God? God is beyond gender. God is nameless, formless, eternal, and invisible. There is a source, a Power that is responsible for the creation of this amazing universe. The wind...

Yoga – Union with God

What is Yoga? Yoga is commonly understood to be physical gymnastics – the mere practice of breathing exercises or Pranayama, meditation techniques or Dhyana, physical exercises and postures or Asanas. Of course, these are parts of Ashtanga Yoga or the Eight Limbs of Yoga, but in reality this is not Yoga. The role of Asanas or meditation is a part of the overall Yogic experience, but Yoga means something entirely different. Yoga is “Yuj” or Union – Union with God. It is the ability to detach oneself from the world and connect with God. It is building a connection with God. Just as a SIM card, pinging for the satellite discovers its own network, and then follows the network wherever it goes, similarly, being in Yoga means being in constant union with God and never disconnecting...

Spirituality in Life: Why is Spirituality Important?

Why is Spirituality important? What is Spirituality? Spirituality is everything to do with the Spirit, the Soul, the Atman or what in reality is the life energy within us. Why is that important? Because that is everything! If there is no life energy within us, then we are dead, then there is nothing. The only thing that truly exists is this life energy which is us, but which we don’t realize. We think that we are the body, we are the mind, when in reality we are the Spirit. Therefore, Spirituality is the study of the Spirit. It is being conscious of who we truly are. If we do not follow a life that is Spiritual or rather being that life energy, that Soul or the Atman, then...

Maya – The Cosmic Illusion

People on the journey of spiritual enlightenment often wonder why it is difficult to realize the truth. The truth is not difficult to realize. In fact, it is very simple. However, we are unable to realize the truth because our own mind, which is under the spell of Maya, a Cosmic Illusion, refuses to accept the truth. What is Maya? Maya is a very powerful “Ignorance” that envelopes humanity. The word Maya itself means “illusion” – the illusion that everything in this world is real as we see it. The world “appears” to be real because of Maya. This is easily understood when it is compared to a dream. Is a dream real or unreal? Of course, it is unreal. Nothing that happened in a dream actually happened. When the body sleeps, the mind traverses in imagination...

The World is a Cosmic Drama

Have you ever imagined this Earth to be a huge stage – a stage that is hosting a mega drama? The biggest show you could ever imagine? Can you ever imagine this humongous Earth to be nothing more than a platform where a show called “LIFE” is being staged? 8 billion people in one show! Most of us can’t! We think life is real. Unlike dreams, which we all know are not real, we think that our “waking life” is real. In reality, life is also a myth, a mirage, and an illusion. Just like dreams are unreal, everything that’s happening on Earth is just a drama, a show. Because we are unaware that life is a drama, we suffer. We come with nothing and we go empty-handed, but we start believing...

who am i-Doctor-British-stars in space-Life-Peaceful-blissful -happy life-Me-Life Energy-Ignorance

Who am I? How to Find Myself?

Have you ever thought about who you are? Are you John? That’s your name. Are you British? That’s your nationality. Are you a doctor? That’s your occupation. Do you hold a Ph.D degree? That’s your educational qualification. Are you a millionaire? That’s your financial status. Who are you? Have you ever stopped to think? Man has invented everything from submarines that go deep into the oceans to supersonic jets that fly in the sky. Man has discovered new lands, stars in space, a thriving underwater life, but man has forgotten to discover himself – who he truly is. It is only when man discovers himself, experiences a spiritual awakening that leads him to self-realization and God-realization, that he will be able to live a peaceful, blissful and happy life. What We...

Four Doors to Liberation

It is said that there are Four doors to Liberation-liberation from the cycle of death and rebirth, and from a life of misery and sorrow. What are these Four doors to Liberation? The First door is ‘Discrimination’ – Using one’s intellect to discriminate between what is wrong and what is right. While it is very difficult to control our thoughts, we can modulate and filter them through our intellect. If we use this faculty of discrimination, we can abort thoughts before they become actions or filter them by reversing the actions that are the outcome of the thoughts. By using the gift of intellect, we can use our willpower, an instrument of choice, to choose our actions, thereby creating positive Karma for the future. The Second door is ‘Dispassion’ or...
